– Why we deliberately waited, what we share there and where you can find us –
When DuoLivo was launched, we deliberately decided against a quick social media launch. Not because we “don’t like” social media, but because we realised: if we do it, we’ll do it properly.
Many projects today start with reels, likes and daily posts, even before the product is really ready. We wanted to go the other way round: first build the platform, stabilise support and processes, collect feedback and only then open channels that are really helpful.
Because DuoLivo should not be loud. But reliable. And that’s exactly how we want to appear on social media.
Why we didn’t start with social media immediately
In the first few weeks, we deliberately focused on the basics:
- Making the app and website stable and pleasant to use
- Designing profiles and content in such a way that they create trust
- Developing processes that provide security
- Incorporating feedback from the community and implementing improvements
Social media without a concept quickly becomes “We post something so that something happens”. This costs time and offers you as a user little value.
Our goal was therefore: to start later, but with a clear, consistent approach and genuine added value.
What you can expect from our posts
We have decided to publish content that really helps you in everyday life. Not advertising for the sake of advertising – but things that you can save, share or simply take away as a helpful impulse.
Examples of topics that we regularly address:
- Safety & Trust: Warning signs in chat, typical scam patterns, safe first meetings and that without causing fear, but clear and practical.
- Profile & Photos: What looks authentic? What helps you get to know someone? What mistakes happen frequently and how can you easily do it better?
- Chat & Getting to Know Each Other: Conversation starters, good questions, dealing with radio silence, slowing down the pace so that dating doesn’t become like a job interview.
- DuoLivo explained: Short insights into our basic attitude: no subscription traps, no fake mechanics, no endless swiping and instead transparency and peace.
We want social media to be a place where you feel comfortable and even when you don’t have the energy for “online dating trends”, but are simply looking for orientation.
Why these channels
We deliberately chose four platforms, not to be everywhere, but to offer the content in the way that works best:
- Instagram – for compact checklists, carousels and short video impulses
- Facebook – for longer texts, explanations and exchange in the comments
- X (Twitter) – for short, clear tips and quick updates
- YouTube – for calm, understandable videos that can be found again at any time
The content will feel slightly different depending on the platform, but the attitude remains the same: respectful, informative, without pressure.
Quality Over Quantity
We don’t want to post “as much as possible”, but regularly content that really brings something. Better less and more thoughtful.
Many posts are based on real questions that reach us and on situations that many people know when getting to know each other online. Our aim is that at the end of a post you can say: “This helps me.”
Current status of the app: Version 1.7 is coming in the next few days
Parallel to the launch of our social media channels, we are of course continuing to work on DuoLivo itself. Version 1.7 will be released in the next few days and we would like to emphasise something at this point: We are currently receiving a lot of feedback from you and we are really happy about that. Every piece of feedback helps us to make DuoLivo better and to improve the things that matter in everyday life.
What will be improved with version 1.7
- Various minor errors fixed: We have corrected several points from user feedback and support messages so that DuoLivo runs even more stably.
- Navigation revised: The operation is clearer and the navigation works more reliably, especially when switching between areas.
- New: Membership on invoice (web version): In the web version, you can now also conveniently order your membership on invoice. DuoLivo is platform-independent: you activate your membership on the web and then use it in a relaxed manner on your smartphone or tablet.
Ideal for anyone who prefers to pay in the classic way or does not want to use a credit card. - New: Verify phone number: In addition to selfie verification, you can now also verify your phone number. This strengthens security and provides additional support for genuine profiles.

And one more thing is important to us: We take very restrictive action against fake profiles. We check profiles carefully and act deliberately consistently because trust comes first at DuoLivo. Nevertheless, it can happen in rare cases that something slips through. If you notice anything, we would be very grateful if you report the profile directly in the app. This will help us to keep DuoLivo safe and pleasant for everyone.
We are very happy about the launch of these channels and, above all, about how DuoLivo has been received so far. New users are joining every day, and we are honestly really happy that the idea of DuoLivo is being so well received: quiet, transparent, without games and with real encounters.
