When we launched DuoLivo, one thing mattered most to us: to start calmly, listen closely, and build a platform step by step that people can truly trust. After three months, we can pause for a moment and simply say thank you.

Because DuoLivo does not thrive on advertising or pretty words. DuoLivo thrives on people who register, create a profile, have the courage to write a first message, and show that genuine connections are possible online too—when the framework is right. Especially at a time when so much has become fast, loud, and superficial, it touches us to see how many of you use DuoLivo with calm seriousness: with an honest desire for closeness, exchange, and a new beginning.

The figures after three months

We are sharing these key figures deliberately, because to us they are more than statistics. They show that DuoLivo is reaching exactly the people we built it for.

Since launch, 632 users have registered. 148 of them were online in the last 7 days. The strongest representation at the moment is Zurich (141 registrations), Basel (62), and Lausanne (57). And: In the first three months, around 1,800 messages have already been sent. This development makes us very happy—not because we want “growth at any price”, but because every single registration is a vote of confidence.

Why we prefer to be strict

For us, it is clear: DuoLivo should not be a place where you “kill time”, but a place where you arrive. And arriving requires trust.

That is why we review profiles carefully. 36 users have been verified so far. Currently, around 40% of registered profiles are visible, while around 60% have been rejected. This is intentional: fewer profiles, but more authenticity. Quality does not come from speed. Quality comes from trust—and trust grows in small steps.

The around 1,800 messages are a strong sign for us. Not because of the volume, but because they show that DuoLivo is being used to truly connect—calmly, respectfully, and without the typical dating-app mechanics that turn everything into a game.

Respond quickly, act decisively

In three months, 4 profiles were reported—the most common reason was fake. What matters to us here is this: All reported profiles were removed within 3 hours. This shows us that our manual review of every single profile is worth it. This creates a strong foundation, and if something does slip through, we can act quickly and consistently. We want safety without it feeling “controlled”, but with clear consequences when something is not right.

What is on your mind

Since the beginning, we have had 70 support tickets. The most common topics were payment terms, login, and general questions about using the platform. On average, we were able to respond within 6 hours. And yes: We really do read everything—not only praise, but especially the notes about things that are not quite right yet. This feedback is exactly what helps us make DuoLivo noticeably better. We also use many questions as a direct reason to continuously update our FAQ on the website, so that answers are even faster and easier to find.

Version 1.7

On Monday, 2026-02-23, we released version 1.7. A large part of the follow-up questions revolved around navigation, so we revised it to make DuoLivo smoother, clearer, and more pleasant in everyday use. In addition, phone number verification was added, along with minor bug fixes, and it is now possible to order a membership on the web with invoice payment. Version 1.8 is already being planned. We want the app to feel “light”: not complicated, not hectic—so that you like coming back because it feels good to be there.

How we make DuoLivo visible

As early as December, we deliberately focused on a mix of regional presence and credible communication. Not loud. Not sensational. But in the same way DuoLivo is designed.

This included radio & interviews (including on Vintage Radio and Radio Basilisk), several radio ads, flyers in Basel with a small quick-start guide for easy onboarding, and since 2025-12-25 also billboard advertising in Basel (e.g., at Aeschenplatz and along the Rhine).

We have continued this approach in recent weeks: We placed an ad in the Grauer Panther Nordwestschweiz, DuoLivo is now on social media, and a TV segment has already been filmed. We are very pleased about this and will be happy to share more at a later time.

A look ahead

We know: A dating platform is not “finished” in three months. Trust does not develop overnight. But what has happened in these first weeks encourages us: DuoLivo is growing slowly, but healthily—and above all with people who are serious about it.
